KFC


Fret not it ain't Kentucky - it's Korean... Korean Fried Chicken! I know I know, bad for you and all that. Still it's worth the taste to see what all the fuss is about right now here in Los Angeles. A friend of mine Ji Young, recommended Kyo-Chon on 6th St in K-Town, but she did highlight the copycat version BonChon is only okay in taste and value compared to Kyo. Kyo-Chon features all-in-one dinner bento boxes at recession-savvy prices, with choices of French Fries, Kim Chi (my fave), spicy fried rice and of course spicy/sweet or garlic/soy sauce flavored fried chix. At first bite, your buds are inundated with the rich taste of the chewy/crunchy skin coupled with the fresh steamy chix underneath. But with all the spiciness from the side dishes, this greedy goblin could not quite empty out my plate. Too much of a good thing! Still, the service is great, fast and the premises clean and cool (the store front glass is open at the top - ventilation?)
