2016 OLYMPICS

As the selection of the city for the Games of the XXXI Olympiad are underway, here are some of the finalists and their logo designs. We like all their efforts and wish all the candidates good luck!

(NOTE: on 2 Oct 2009, the winning city was announced. Congratulations to the city of Rio de Janeiro!
Chicago, considered to be the favorite was eliminated in the first round. The city of Tokyo was next to exit the competition, leaving 2 contenders, Madrid and Rio de Janeiro, in the final round. The announcement was greeted with a rousing celebration in the city of Rio, as revellers cheered on the first games to be held in a South American city. Criticism of Chicago focusing too much on celebrity power, ie. Obama; Oprah and not what the city had to offer, were noted in the press.)
